Let them go.
Keep them close.
Your kid is old enough to walk to a friend’s place or explore the park ~ but a smartphone feels wrong, and a kids’ smartwatch is just a wrist-phone: touchscreens, app stores, cameras, games. More to distract. Easier to break. More expensive to replace.
Walkaband was built for the gap between “too young for a phone”
and “it’s fine, I trust them.”
Like a smartwatch.
Without the screen.
Every other kids smartwatch ships with a touchscreen, an app store, and games. It’s a phone that fits on a wrist. We built something different.
One button. Voice messages home. Live GPS. Safe zone alerts. No screen, no apps, nothing to break or get distracted by.
Other kids smartwatches

- App stores, games, social media
- Expensive, fragile wrist-phones
- More distraction, not less
- No screen. No games. No distractions.

- Safe zone alerts, instant notifications
Explore the world… safely.
Press and speak
Your kid presses and holds the single button and talks. Lyra converts their voice to a message and sends it straight to the parent app. No typing. No menus. No fuss.
Messages go both ways
Parents reply through the app, and the message scrolls across the band. Parents can also ask Lyra to relay alerts ~ like reminding them it's time to head home.
Parents stay in control
Live GPS location. Custom safe zone alerts. A full message history, in and out. You see everything, without hovering.
“Hey Lyra, tell Mum I’ll be at the park.”
Done.
Built for Australian families.
GPS, cellular, and voice messaging ~ with none of the screen time. No camera. No social media. Just a wristband that works.
Always knows where they are
Live GPS location with safe zone alerts. You'll know the moment they leave the park, school, or wherever they're supposed to be.
Voice messages, instantly
One press to speak, and Lyra sends the message home. Purpose-built for kids ~ not a repurposed general AI. Strict guardrails, age-appropriate responses, total parent control.
No screen. On purpose.
No touchscreen means no social media, no open internet, no distraction. The LED display scrolls messages. That's all it needs to do.
Message home instantly
Kids speak, Lyra sends. "Tell Mum I'll be late." Done. Parents reply from the app, and the message scrolls right across the wrist.
Reminders that actually work
"Remind me to brush my teeth at 7pm every night." Lyra sets it. The band buzzes when it's time. No phone required.
Safe zone alerts
Set zones around home, school, and friends' places. Get notified the moment they arrive or leave. No checking. Just knowing.
Meet Lyra.Purpose-built for kids.
Named after the lyrebird, Lyra is not a general-purpose AI repurposed for children ~ she was built for this, from the ground up. Strict guardrails keep every response age-appropriate. Parents stay in full control, and every message is private.

“I built Walkaband because it’s exactly what I’ve wanted for my three kids.
Most tech companies bolt parental controls on as an afterthought ~ and they end up so frustrating that you just turn them off. I’ve tried kids’ smartwatches, Apple Watches, all of it. Every time, I’d hand them a device and watch another screen enter their life.
What I actually wanted was simple: my kids get the freedom to head off with friends, and I get just enough connection to know they’re safe and can reach me if they need to. Nothing more. Nothing less.
I want them to explore the world the way we did growing up ~ with the right amount of freedom, and just enough connection to feel confident letting them go.

I’ve been waiting for something like this since my son turned seven. The right amount of freedom, the right amount of connection.
